I am not affiliated with Riot, but I take full credit for any tampering I’ve done to Sejuani’s character and design. I do not write canon Sejuani, please do not try to change my muse to be more canon, thank you. I didn't lie when I said this would be a study into heartbreak, though heartbreak comes in many shapes and sizes. Sejuani has felt a good portion of them throughout her life, and it has made her cold and resilient. We will explore the darker sides of abandonment and such in this portrayal. Furthermore, I incorporate a lot of Nordic Mythology into my portrayal. If that is not your cup of tea, I advise you to turn around now.

When it comes to TITLES, Sejuani has a few of them. Warmother being the most commonly used one nowadays, but before then, she was also known as Clawleader. She may sometimes be referred to as the Fury of the North by some, or the Winter's Wrath by others.

In terms of SCARS, she has one over her right eye, that crisscrosses with one over the bridge of her nose. A large cut over her left collarbone and shoulder. Burn mark on her right hip. Four large cuts on her right thigh. Rest of her body is littered with scars of varying kinds. As for TATTOOS & PIERCINGS, she has various Freljordian symbols and stylized art on her arms. A kill count on her right arm. Runes scattered over her arms that say "trust nothing but your strength" "freljord" "bristle" "strength" "courage" "life & death" "clawleader" "warmother". Each word was inked upon reaching a new milestone in her life, roughly.

Sejuani suffers from a few CONDITIONS, namely : Undereating : When someone is undereating, they are consuming fewer calories than their body needs to function correctly. This can have a severe impact on energy levels, causing feelings of physical tiredness and mental fatigue, which may impair a person's daily functioning. Abandonment Issues : Abandonment issues happen when a parent or caregiver does not provide the child with consistent warm or attentive interactions, leaving them feeling chronic stress and fear. The experiences that happen during a child's development will often continue into adulthood. Alcoholism : A chronic, a progressive, potentially fatal disorder marked by excessive and usually compulsive drinking of alcohol leading to psychological and physical dependence or addiction.

01. BLOODSWORN ▼

Sejuani has seven Bloodsworn wives, most of which she has gained through some sort of conquest. A Bloodsworn’s main objective is to keep their Warmother and their offspring safe, but Sejuani has taken some Bloodsworn that have no glorious tales to tell of battles. Her main focus when choosing a Bloodsworn is, aside from the already stated, that she wants a woman who can give something back to the tribe and to Sejuani, herself. So if you know how to do a task that others might not excel at, Sejuani may be interested in you. She has enough Bloodsworn that are warriors. She craves individuals who stand out and are their own personalities, as well. In other words, strength of character is as much a must as strength, in general.Strid was just a young Battlemaiden when Sejuani met her. They are long term friends, and the way their friendship worked made it just a natural thing for them to one day get married. Strid was Sejuani’s first Bloodsworn, and she is easily the one with the biggest heart out of all of them. She takes the role of a caretaker very seriously, and is typically the first to hear when Sejuani returns from battle. Strid is also a fun-loving personality who can easily make a whole room laugh. Strid’s career as a warrior never really took off, she can fight and defend herself or others, but she has no renown. She tends to things around the camps and particularly to things within Sejuani’s tent.Ladgerd was a warrior before Sejuani knew her. She is of one of the tribes that were consumed by the Winter’s Claw, and she did not like Sejuani in the slightest in the beginning. But Sejuani liked her. Ladgerd made Sejuani go through fire and water to get on her good side, but it wasn’t until Sejuani shared her past with her that Ladgerd really fell for her. Ladgerd has a good head on her shoulders. She is smart and charismatic, and good with the youngest of the Claw members.Signe was also a great — Iceborn — warrior, perhaps even more so than Ladgerd. She has many Battlemaidens and a few Battlesisters as well. Heavily scarred from battle and with a warrior’s heart beating in her chest, the tales are many of her triumphs. She is the one who fights side by side with Sejuani, every raid, every battle. Signe is also known as “ Signe Wolf’s Heart ” for she used to be a bit of a loner, and would always hunt on her own and such. In her downtime, Signe likes to tend to Sejuani’s hair and she is the one who braids several pieces of jewelry and small battle trophies into it every morning.Tove is a small woman, filled with a curiosity few can sate. She took a liking to Sejuani because Sejuani would tell her about her adventures, and because there is never a dull moment with the Warmother. Tove is the one who takes care of the letters sent to and from the Winter’s Claw, and she is extremely good with animals, namely birds. She always gives Bristle extra attention, as well. In fact, it is not uncommon for Sejuani to make jokes that Bristle prefers Tove’s company to her own at times.Yrsa was an Iceborn woman on her own in the harsh terrain of the northern Freljord. When the Winter’s Claw travelled past her territory, Yrsa would try to steal from their supplies but was one day caught and held accountable by Sejuani herself. Sejuani convinced Yrsa to join her tribe and become her Bloodsworn, as she saw in her a woman who was perhaps as much a hardened hunter as herself. Yrsa is now a fierce warrior and she is called “ Yrsa The Bear ” for good reasons. She is still as wild as the day Sejuani met her, and for this she is treasured by the Warmother.A Vedmah, Gudrun had the ability to see events of the future since she was a child. Sejuani would often go to her to have her future read and over time, the two would start talking about more than just the glory that awaited Sejuani. There was a click there, somewhere. Gudrun can be reckless in battle, though, and it is sometimes a task for Sejuani to get her to stay in the background. Gudrun has a deeply rooted desire to prove herself as more than just a seer — she wants to be seen also as a fighter, a magic user.Toril is the youngest of them all and possibly the most fiery as well. She has an even bigger temper on her than Bristle does, and that is saying something. Sejuani wedded her not for her own protection and needs, but for Toril’s. Toril’s parents died in battle when she was very young and she was adopted by her tribe’s Warmother. Years later, the tribe joined forces with the Winter’s Claw, and Sejuani chose Toril as her newest Bloodsworn to show the new tribesmen that she could be trusted and, because she had heard what had happened to Toril as a child. She vowed to teach her how to fight, and Toril has since then become a fine warrior.

02. CONDITIONS ▼

It’s safe to say that Sejuani didn’t have an easy upbringing. Between her birth mother leaving, to the abuse she sustained at the hands of her grandmother, to the fact that her tribe was always low on food, she developed some not-so-fortunate traits. While she has never been diagnosed with anything in her life, she does express some signs of mental illness, though the way the Freljord is run makes it difficult to convince her of her own struggles — the strong survive, and the weak perish. Admitting to not only herself, but to someone else that there is something wrong with her mind would therefore be a huge blow. Not only that, but mental illness as a whole is not something that is really talked about, let alone acknowledged at all, in the Freljord.So, without further ado, let’s dive into some of Sejuani’s biggest struggles.Eating habits. Ever since Sejuani’s mother left the Winter’s Claw the tribe has suffered, first because of its lack of a Warmother to lead it, and then because as much as she tries, Sejuani hasn’t been able to recover it to its former glory — least of all now that it is growing larger by the week. There simply haven’t been enough resources to go around. Oftentimes, Claw tribesmen go to sleep without dinner, and Sejuani is no exception to this. It’s not always because there isn’t food enough for her, but more so for the following reasons: 1.) If her men don’t eat, she has a hard time doing it. 2.) She may choose to starve herself as punishment for whatever it is she deems she’s failed to do that day. It could be a failed hunt, a raid that didn’t go well, letting her people down, etc. etc. 3.) Having spent basically her entire life with a strained relationship to food, sometimes it is just impossible for her to eat due to the fact that hunger is no longer something she feels, and should she try to eat despite it, she gets sick. Which then causes a downward spiral because if she throws up, that is one wasted meal ; something the tribe cannot afford. She would rather give her meal to someone else who haven’t eaten in a hot second, than risk vomiting.All in all there is a massive pressure on Sejuani to provide food for the tribe, but also to stay alive so she can do just that. And that requires eating. She gets by on basically the bare minimum is what I am saying.Anger issues. It’s no secret that Sejuani is a loaded gun. She may blow up over the smallest of things, and she is every bit the fearless warrior her reputation speaks of. Her short temper stems largely from the physical and verbal abuse she went through growing up. She was constantly belittled, hit, and reminded of how little she was worth to her grandmother. When Hejian’s hand turned to a fist, Sejuani knew she was going to be punished somehow, almost always for something that didn’t even have anything to do with her, or was otherwise out of her hands completely. Sejuani learned early on in life that violence was the answer to most of her struggles, though she has always tried to channel that rage that burns inside her into combat of some sort, be it fighting other tribes or hunting and killing prey. She tries to be productive about it like that.However her temper cannot be controlled, oftentimes not even by herself. She is known to pick fights over small things, and get angry when things don’t go her way. When she gets angry, her hands ball into fists, just like Hejian’s did. Her eyes flare up like azure fire, and she grits her teeth and growls. She has many warning signals. Throughout her adult life, she has only known a few people who can calm her down when she starts to get mad, Strid being one of them, as well as Lena, in her verse.Abandonment issues. This one is pretty self explanatory. Not only was she abandoned by her own mother, but she was by the love of her life as well. So two of the most instrumental people in her life have left her behind. The fact that Ashe seems to have a good life now with all that she could want, only rubs salt in Sejuani’s wounds. Sejuani has developed a very real fear of being abandoned by those she cares about and has a hard time growing attached to anyone for this reason. She will often avoid someone should she develop strong feelings for them, simply dodge them like the plague. That way, she won’t lose them. Or so she tells herself.Alcoholism. One of the ways her baggage manifests is Sejuani’s unhealthy relationship with alcohol. But all Freljordians drink like there’s no tomorrow, right? Wrong, but tell yourself what you must to get through the day, Sejuani. She drinks pretty much all day, though she isn’t always drunk — her alcohol resistance is quite high. She’d have to down a lot of drinks back to back to get affected. However, the amount of alcohol she consumes is still worrisome, and not good for her at all. It’s gotten to the point where her “ normal ” is when she’s had a few drinks, and she will start to experience withdrawal symptoms should she go too long without any.Coping strategies. Sejuani doesn’t really have many healthy coping strategies. She drinks, she has a lot of sex just for the sake of feeling something and instead of waiting for others to leave her she will leave them behind first. Though she does channel her anger into being productive, and while that may be a good thing for the most part, it is not addressing the issue. She needs someone who will sit down with her and to just be able to unpack all that she struggles with, but she doesn’t want this, as she perceives her struggles as weaknesses — if she even acknowledges them to begin with.

NSFW! 03. IN-DETH SUNDAY FACTS ▼

Sejuani is a top through and through. She does not bottom, at all. The only time she will, is if she has established a very close bond with a Bloodsworn. It is exceedingly rare that she does, I cannot stress that enough. She is also picky with where she likes to be touched — generally her upper body, down to her hips, is a clear zone. She isn't particularly fond of having her thighs touched although she won't riot over it should it happen. It just isn't a sensitive area. Her chest is much the same — although she does not enjoy having her breasts touched in particular. It's fine to lay one's hand atop her chest. That's it.That being said, her back is a soft spot for her. Whether her partner is running their hands over it, or even if they're scratching it, Sejuani greatly enjoys the stimulation and / or pain that comes with that. Her face is also a tender place to touch her. She will sometimes lean into a touch to her cheek, or turn her head into the palm there if she is feeling tender, kissing it ( Although she isn't too big on kissing, in general, the palm of her partner is a yes zone. )Sejuani has not explored any real kinks as much as she's just been winging it her whole life. She is therefore rather unaware of what she would and would not enjoy in bed, aside from vanilla activities — or, almost so. Because while she is not aware of any technical terms for it, she is quite big on certain aspects of dom / sub dynamics ( Mostly in main verse, but even in other verses, as well. ) She enjoys feeling in control, definitely has a dominant hidden in there. Pinning is a big one for her. She can be on both ends of that, though mostly tends to be the one pinning her partner. She tends to growl, bite, scratch, and to an extent, can dip her toes into primal play ( However I wouldn't categorize her as fully into everything in that bracket just yet. )She likes it rough, though, and will typically default to some sort of missionary position, however she is very receptive to switching it up and trying other positions. She is particularly fond of her partner riding her while she remains on her back. She enjoys being able to touch them anywhere.She's very skilled with a strap on, and that may in part be due to the fact that she is fit, for one, and she is incredibly good at reading people, their bodies, their expressions. She knows when someone wants more or less of whatever she's doing, and she is just . . . A natural at this particular thing. There's not much else to say about it. She is even eager to partake in anything involving penetration, perhaps to the detriment of her willingness to engage in oral sex.Because she doesn't do that often. Once again, she needs to have a very close bond with someone in order to feel comfortable with giving oral. At least, initiating it. A partner could, in some cases, convince her to go down on them, if the mood strikes. When she does give oral, she does not hold back, though. She absolutely gets very into it, and it shows. She comes away, her entire face a mess. Every time.Sejuani will sometimes engage in sex with multiple people at once, and she enjoys that a lot when it does happen.As already mentioned, Sejuani isn't really aware of what kinks she might have, because she's never given it much thought. She can however ( Spoiler alert. ) be very receptive to the following : visual stimulation, through watching her partner especially, hair pulling, sensory play and especially blindfolds and the like, restraints — being on both ends really, service topping, she is very easily teased, marking her partner / being marked by her partner, semi-public spaces, and very possibly more that I can't think of at the moment.Some smaller facts just to top things off :

All in all, Sejuani likes to do battle, she likes to feel powerful in all aspects of her life, she likes to have a cause to fight for, and she wants desperately to bury her feelings for the rest of her life. Sex isn't just a means to an end. It is release. In a sense, she fights as hard as she does because she values life and the pleasures that comes with it. Sex, as well as the people she has it with, are just more things to fight for.
